This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of information and communications technology (ICT) roles who have significant experience in specialist technical skills, or managerial business and people management skills.
Individuals in these roles carry out complex tasks in a specialist field, working independently, leading a team or a strategic direction of a business.

They apply their skills across a wide range of industries and business functions, or as a business owner (sole traders/contractors).
The skills required for these roles may include, but are not restricted to:
• Telecommunications network engineering: managing logistics, organisational specifications, regulations and legislative requirements across network projects.

Every student will have an initial interview to assess their individual learning needs and their language, literacy and numeracy skills.

• Completed Australian Year 12 or equivalent
• IELTS 6.0 English language equivalence if a non-native English speaker
• Be aged over 17 for Domestic Students and over 18 for International Students.

By undertaking this course, you will:

• Develop ICT project management skills
• Utilise industry-standard software such as Visual Studio, Microsoft Office, draw.io
• Further explore technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Assess client requirements and apply them to ICT projects
• Learn to ensure the quality of ICT products against cyber threats
• Explore the basics of cybersecurity and cyber threats
• Delve into interactive web design techniques and user experience mobile and web interfaces

Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include:

• Graduates of the Diploma of Information Technology or other equivalent qualification or
• Some vocational experience assisting in range of support roles without a formal business qualification.

After achieving the ICT60220 Advanced Diploma of Information Technology course may gain entry to a degree course in the same or similar field.

Students successfully finishing the ICT60220 Advanced Diploma of Information Technology course may gain employment in a range of industries.
